waitress come, say good morn, set the menu down beside her
and she took, took her time through the lines of appetizers
and it dawned, dawned on me she moves just like a brontosaur.
Well she cut, cut me deep like the spine of a stegosaur
but good lord, behind closed doors hear her roar like tyrannosaur.
And she swing, swing both ways, she don't behave,
she's an omnivore.
Here I'll stay with Ida Ray, she's my present-day dinosaur.
Well we moved, move along to the jamboree and the promenade
me n my gal Ida Ray, sweet as street corner lemonade
then she grabbed, grabbed my hand, twirled my round and round
the dance hall
with a tail, big and quick, knocked me out like an ankylo.
